Frank’s Batting Balls and Weiners

Fun on a Bun with a Home Run on the Side Frank’s Batting, Balls, & Wieners is an exciting baseball experience filled with batting cages, delicious hot dogs, and themed bars.

Back in the 1940s times were hard, and fun was hard to come across, in comes Frank the Dachsund, to steal home base and America’s hearts. Frank was the first ever dog to play in professional baseball, and despite his stubby legs, he could not be beat. He inspired more dachshunds to join baseball and eventually started his own all-dachshund team. He even inspired other dogs to enter other human sports. Now his legacy lives on at Frank’s batting Balls and Weiners where you can experience spring training with Frank and the Winning Weinies. Experiences include themed dining and bars, dachshund races, unconventional exhibition games, and batting cages.

This Project was made for my Immersive Experience class at UCF for my Themed Experience M.S. The class was taught by Pete Carsillo. The purpose of this class and project is quoted from the Syllabus.

“In this studio course students will shepherd their own themed experience project through the blue sky, sketch, presentation, research, feasibility study stages, and final creative presentation. This class deals with mid-sized themed experiences designed to engage a guest for one to four hours. Students will explore storytelling methodology applied to all aspects of the guest experience from initial contact such as a website, app, waiting room, vestibule or queue line, to the primary experience such as dining, ride, show, exhibition, drama, or historical recreation or re-enactment, to guest exiting and follow up. Students will clearly map the interactive guest experience by calculating timing, guest movement, interaction, and physical space. Emphasis will be placed upon conveying and effectively communicating the story.”
